The chart is carefully engraved.
The shoreline is precisely marked.
The depth soundings are neatly recorded.
And somewhere beneath the surface, right in the middle of all those respectable numbers, there’s something that doesn’t appear to belong there.
A long, dark shape.
Two humps.
And what appears to be a rather substantial neck.
Beside it, a handwritten note:

Which seems like a remarkably calm response to finding something enormous beneath the water.
