Everybody gets sent on a snipe hunt once.
Most people come back with an empty sack.
This kid came back with evidence.

You know the routine.
Send the new camper into the woods after dark.
Give them a burlap sack.
Hand them a flashlight.
Tell them to catch a snipe.
Then wait for them to come back empty-handed.
Except this time, the sack wasn’t empty.
Peeking out is a tiny, round, ridiculously fluffy little creature with a long beak, enormous shiny eyes, and the satisfied expression of something that has just won a contest nobody else knew was happening.
