Unregistered Stock
Rural Myth Co. | Field & Folklore
Someone tried to register it with the county as livestock.
The county declined.
Apparently, there are limits to what the Department of Agriculture is willing to classify as a farm animal.
Unregistered Stock is a cryptid livestock registry card for one particularly troublesome specimen, the kind of woolly, ram-horned creek dweller that Sheepsquatch stories are made of.
The portrait shows a towering, wool-covered creature standing ankle-deep in a creek, its curled ram horns rising above a face that doesn't appear in any standard livestock manual.
The county's investigation produced the following findings:
BREED: UNKNOWN
OWNER: NONE ON RECORD
TEMPERAMENT: DO NOT APPROACH
HABITAT: CREEK BOTTOMS
The paperwork was reviewed.
The specimen was considered.
And somebody in the county office finally reached for the rubber stamp.
REGISTRATION DENIED.
Rendered in tobacco brown, pine black, and rust red, this vintage-inspired design captures the peculiar intersection of rural folklore and government bureaucracy. Available in Brick, Grape, Moss, Pepper, Washed Denim, and Espresso.
Part of the Field & Folklore Collection from Rural Myth Co., Unregistered Stock celebrates the strange things people find in the woods, and the unfortunate clerks who have to decide what to do with them.
The county has no further comment.
